Stuart Brown

One of our premier academic tutors specializing in the SAT, ACT, mathematics and writing. Stuart completed his undergraduate degree at Claremont McKenna College with a B.A. in government. With a specialization in standardized testing strategy, Stuart has scored highly on both the SAT and ACT, and excelled in numerous AP courses in the past. As a government major, he gained a lot of experience writing and editing in a wide array of courses and organizations he was a part of.

Stuart is passionate about learning and has extensive tutoring experience. He spent several summers working as a tutor at Huckleberry Youth Programs in San Francisco, where he taught underprivileged Bay Area students in math and English. During his gap year, Stuart spent several months teaching English to elementary school students in Cambodia and Thailand. He also worked as Lead Instructor at Galileo Summer Camp in Burlingame, where he helped to develop weekly lesson plans for upwards of 60 campers.

Stuart went to high school at the Thacher school in Ojai, California. While there he earned several academic awards, including National Merit Commended Scholar and AP Scholar with distinction, as well as departmental honors in several areas. Stuart has experience guiding students through the standardized test process from A to Z. He scored a four or above on AP English Literature, English Language, AB Calculus, Micro and Macro Economics, and Physics while in high school.

Stuart hopes to one day pursue a career in either the non-profit or NGO fields, with a focus on education and sustainable development. In his free time, Stuart enjoys camping, following Bay Area sports, and reading. He also played on the club lacrosse team at Claremont, serving as the defensive captain of the team for two years.
