Sajeel Malik graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience. At Berkeley, he served as the Executive Director of the local student chapter of Humanity First, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to disaster relief and capacity building. With Humanity First, he has traveled to Puerto Rico, Guatemala, and Jordan in an effort to provide long-term health and infrastructural support to impoverished regions.
Sajeel is an avid writer and over the years has been published in numerous newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal, the Mercury News, the Houston Chronicle, and others. He has tutored writing in high school and college, and has worked with the National Honor Society to improve the writing skills of high school aged teens in both Houston and the Bay Area.
Since graduating, Sajeel has been undergoing cutting-edge medical robotics research in Houston with the goal of designing robotic surgical systems that are minimally-invasive and produce the best patient outcomes.
Most important, however, Sajeel is an enormous Houston Rockets fan and hopes to see the Rockets finally overtake the Warriors and win the title.
